Hi, I’m Jade.

I’ve spent the last two decades at the intersection of creativity and spirituality, working as a creative midwife and producer for some of the world’s most well-known spiritual teachers, helping them refine their voice and share their message with clarity and heart. At the same time, I was immersed in my own practice: studying across traditions, training as a chaplain, and learning firsthand how life can both break us open and put us back together. Art and making has been a companion through it all.

My experience has taught me that the creative process is a powerful tool for touching mystery, metabolizing grief, and making meaning in a fractured world. That conviction has guided my work offering psycho-spiritual care: a practice that blends the rigor of chaplaincy training, the playfulness of the creative process, and the radical tenderness that both demand.

Today, both through Creative Spirit Club and my work in end-of-life care, I hold space for people who are navigating life’s thresholds — the holy messes, the breakthroughs, the heartbreaks — and who suspect that creativity and soul-work belong together. My background weaves together editorial craft, contemplative practice, and pastoral presence, but at its heart my work is simple: listening deeply, honoring what arises, and helping people create the life, ritual, or art that their soul is calling for.

Midwifing Wisdom
As the lead curriculum designer and producer for online courses at both Ten Percent Happier (a meditation app co-founded by former ABC journalist Dan Harris) and Shambhala Publications (a book publisher of spirituality, psychology, and personal growth), I created more than 30 courses with teachers and experts including the Dalai Lama, Pema Chödrön, David Richo, Natalie Goldberg, Richie Davidson, Roshi Joan Halifax, Joseph Goldstein, Susan Piver, Kelly McGonigal, Cynthia Bourgeault, and Judith Lief. Collectively, my course work has reached millions of people.

As part of the Opening the Dharma Treasury editing committee at Naropa University, I transcribed and edited Cynicism and Magic: Intelligence and Intuition on the Buddhist Path by Chögyam Trungpa (Shambhala Publications, 2021).

Spiritual Training
For nearly two decades, I’ve been a dedicated student of Buddhism in the Tibetan and Zen traditions. In that time, I’ve practiced daily meditation and ritual, as well as yearly silent retreats and in-person study with many accomplished masters.

I also moonlight as a witch and love to nerd out on tarot, animism, depth psychology, folk mysticism, and ordinary magic!

Creative Expression
I have a BA in writing & literature from Emerson College, and I’ve also been a passionate amateur of visual art-making, taking classes in painting and drawing at institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I draw and journal daily, and carry a camera with me pretty much everywhere I go! I’m a firm believer in the importance of making bad art.

Community Leadership
Over a decade of service at the Boston Shambhala Meditation Center, I helped shape the community’s spiritual life through program planning, retreats, and classes. From 2018–2020, I served as Director of Practice and Education, where I supported members at every stage of their meditation journey.

Chaplaincy and End-of-Life Care
I completed a two-year Buddhist Chaplaincy Training at Upaya Zen Center, earning a Master’s of Divinity equivalency. My thesis was an exploration of how art and the creative process can be a form of spiritual care.

I served as a chaplain at Boston Medical Center, and am currently at Hospice of the Fisher Home, accompanying patients and their families through the dying and bereavement process. I’m working toward board certification, completing my first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education with the Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation and the Pacific Institute for Essential Conversations.

With your support, I hope to continue offering creative spiritual care to those in need in my community.
